South London R&B singer Liyah is due to release her new single “IDK (I Don’t Know)” internationally on Friday 5th July 2019. IDK follows on from her previous single J’adore which hit over 20,000 streams within the first week of release. A recent alumnus of the BRIT school and a previous winner of Best RBE Singer Award Liyah has just taken part in an acoustic session called ‘In the session’ with Natasha Watts on BBC Radio (Berkshire).
IDK’s core theme centres around a breakup situation where that person has changed and you can’t recognise them anymore. Inspired to write it from her own personal experiences and put behind an up-tempo R&B beat produced by RIZZ Liyah’s vocal range takes centre stage.
Liyah gets her musical ability from her late uncle, legendary musician Earl Lindo ‘Wya’ original band member of Bob Marly and The Wailers who nurtured her interest in music by teaching her to play guitar and piano and fundamentally helped her with songwriting skills. Liyah also extensively supports a number of charities throughout England including singing at XPRESS Night who supports females throughout the world and has also been the face of Barnardos, working to support children with mental health awareness.
This year is looking to be a busy one for Liah, who plans to release her debut album in September 2019 with various songs being released on the run-up to her album launch on 27th September 2019 in Stanley Halls Croydon.
