Nick Shake

Nick Shake is set to release his debut EP Sandancer worldwide on Wednesday, 17th April 2019. The London based singer-songwriter is preparing to unleash his heartfelt story-driven Indie-Folk EP to the world via Spotify. A previous winner of Overplay’s “Best Unsigned Song” as well as achieving airplay on BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens Show, Nick Shake is shining a light on the current mental health crisis. Sandancer deals with the subject of losing a partner to suicide and the journey of grief and healing. Taking influence from a number of artists throughout many eras, he draws much influence from the likes of Frank Turner, Joni Mitchell and Laura Marling. 

Nick started writing Sandancer as a direct response to the community connection he created during a tribute concert in London that he staged in aid of mental health awareness. He was taken aback by how many people began sharing their own heartbreaking stories about losing loved ones to suicide. This powerful evening spurred Nick into creating Sandancer as a conduit for coming to terms with both his loss and to tell the stories of others based on the themes of love, life, and loss.  

Nick Shake has a musical career spanning over a decade. Over the years he has played at a number of internationally recognisable festivals including Bestival (UK), Snowbombing (Austria) and Route Du Rock (France). Nick has also performed with many groups including award-winning indie-punk outfit Laura Lost, and alternative folk rockers Walk With Kings. He has recently completed a busking tour of Europe, covering 3000 miles and 8 countries in just 2 weeks. 

Next for Nick is his EP launch at the Cavendish Arms, Stockwell on Friday, 26th April 2019.
