PETER LLOYD, born January 29, is a Jamaican recording artist, songwriter, producer and actor, born in Kingston and now lives in Montego Bay. Peter Lloyd is a face and voice that Jamaicans have grown up with for nearly twenty (20) years and is affectionately known as “ The Love Messenger”. From numerous films and TV shows, to radio and theatre, Peter Lloyd is currently enjoying success as a recording and performing artiste.
Peter Lloyd entered the creative industry as an actor and is one of Jamaica’s most accomplished in that field. A member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), Peter Lloyd has starred in several major Hollywood blockbuster movies. He played the groom in The Mighty Quinn (Starring Denzel Washington) (1989), and the Jamaican waiter in Prelude To A Kiss (Starring Meg Ryan and Alec Baldwin) (1992). He also acted in International television series Walt Disney’s Return to Treasure Island (1986) as the character Abed Jones, the CBS mini-series Passion and Paradise (1989), ABC’s Going to Extremes (1992) and CVM TV’s The Blackburns of Royal Palm Estate (2009). Peter Lloyd has also distinguished his excellence on the Jamaican theatrical stage, acting in productions like The Rope and The Cross, David Heron’s Against His Will and Ed Wallace’s Boeing Boeing as Bernard. An exceptional broadcaster Peter Lloyd has hosted some of Jamaica’s most popular television programs. From then Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation’s Morning Time in the 1990’s, Man and Woman Story TVJ’s Sunday talk show in 2000, to an eight-months stint as the sole host of the popular Mantalk which aired Sundays at 9pm on TVJ (2005).
