About This Project

Fresh to the music scene, 18-year old House producer Talkc is set to release his new single ‘We Have Tonight’ through Rent House Productions on Friday 26th November 2021. Born and raised in Leeds, he has been making music alongside his studies since 2018 however has now chosen to pursue his music career full-time. He has previously worked with Grammy & Brit Awards nominee, British producer and songwriter Steve Chrisanthou, who co-wrote the hit song “Put Your Records On” with John Beck and Corinne Bailey Rae,  their collaboration ‘’Stereo’’ gained the support of BBC 1XTRA  who named it ‘Record Of The Week’.

Talkc’s talents are sourced from the inherited skills of his father who has guided him in the primary stages of his professional career and helped navigate him through his decision to commit to music over attending university. Starting with just the vocal sample, the young producer impressively used only a cheap headset in his bedroom to build the original mix. The song has since been mastered by the well-acclaimed Abbey Road Studios and has come back sounding clean, crisp and polished like every upbeat house track should. The blank canvas for the track has been completely coated in colourful, youthful production with an addictive hook building to an immediate first chorus.

‘We Have Tonight’ depicts late-night dancefloor romances through catchy lyrics; “If it’s over, let’s pretend for one more night” bringing images of bustling club venues filled with teenagers calling out every word. The hard-hitting basslines and EDM beat gives the track huge amounts of drive and momentum and goes to show anyone can be a bedroom DJ but it takes skill to pull off a first single of this quality, no matter what your age. There’s a new wave of young UK producers creating future dance anthems and ‘We Have Tonight’ is a gleaming example of their potential, capturing the energy of talented adolescence.

Influenced by Jax Jones, David Guetta and Rudimental, this initial release accompanied by an imaginative lyric video already feels like a nod in the right direction. Being in talks with other big collaborators in the near future makes the promising up-and-coming act one to watch in the coming months.  Keep an eye out on socials for further updates.
